Virtual Prenatal Classes

These are all virtual resources. These programs and resources are not affiliated with the FNW Maternity Hub. We cannot recommend any of the resources or attest to their quality.

 
 

+ Tummy Talks

Free, online prenatal education and classes. Includes a two-part prenatal series that will help you prepare for labour and birth. Experienced Registered Nurses will host these live and interactive webinars and present unbiased and current information to help you make informed decisions during childbirth. Other classes include breastfeeding and first aid. Postpartum classes are available under the "All Other Hospitals" icon.

+ Burnaby Family Life

Offers free and confidential programs for pregnant women and new moms experiencing challenges or barriers in their lives, and who reside in Burnaby or New Westminster. Programs include a Prenatal program and a Post Natal Program called Baby & Me. Classes are currently held virtually.

+ Prenatal and Newborn Care (Douglas College)

Live online classes with an instructor are offered several nights a week and Saturdays. Participants have access to every class so you can take as many classes as you like, as often as you like. In addition to the live sessions, classes will be recorded for future viewing. Topics include pregnancy and birth overview, labour, postpartum, newborn care.

+ Safe Beginnings First Aid

This 2-hour workshop focuses on CPR and choking for infants and children, as well as injury prevention for when babies become mobile. Online live webinars as well as on-demand infant CPR sessions available.

+ Dancing Star Birth

Choose from a six week series, a weekend intensive series, or Prenatal in a day workshop. Come and meet other parents and prepare together for the joy and work of labour and new parenting. Classes may be online or in person.

+ Ridge Meadows Doula Services

Childbirth education classes via Zoom. Teaches you comfort techniques for you and your support person when to go to the hospital, the stages of labour, home birth or hospital birth and what to bring, skills to maintain self-care, and reduce anxiety in your birthing time.

+ The Childbearing Society

Classes offered in person or online via Zoom. The Main Prenatal Classes focuses all the basic information about birth, breastfeeding & caring for your newborn, as well as guiding you in discovering your own coping mechanisms and parenting philosophies. The course is offered as a 7 week Evening Series or condensed Weekend Workshop
Cost: $325 (per couple or $225 for single moms)

+ Voyage Birth

Group classes, private sessions, face-to-face or online via Zoom. Evidence-based information, knowledgeable educators who have been there. Offers a private prenatal course, refresher prenatal course and postpartum course.

+ Baby Prep Prenatal Sessions

Prenatal classes offered by Registered Nurses. Content includes late changes in pregnancy, labour and birth overview, newborn care, postpartum care, breastfeeding and more. Classes can be online or in person.

Agnes is a Registered Nurse with experience working in labour and delivery and offers prenatal classes, CPR classes, lactation support, and more through a holistic approach.

+ Joyous ChildBirth

Gurjeet is an experienced Registered Nurse who has worked in birthing units for the last 20 years and is passionate about helping moms prepare mentally and physically for childbirth. Virtual prenatal classes include monthly Q&A Zoom calls.

+ This Child of Mine Prenatal Classes

This Child of Mine Prenatal Classes offers both online and in-person classes. All of our classes are taught by certified Childbirth Educators who are Registered Nurses and have additional speciality education in Perinatal Nursing. This Child of Mine was established in 1996 and has been offering a variety of high quality programs since then. We strive to make our classes informative, respectful, and inclusive. We offer online classes to anyone in BC. Specific information is provided for the hospital the client is planning on delivering at. Home-birth information is also included. Classes are offered in-person in Vancouver and online.
